What Are The Maintenance Procedures For Steam Pressure Reducing Valves?

Feb 15, 2023

The steam pressure reducing valve is a kind of valve that uses the opening degree of the opening and closing parts in the valve body to adjust the flow of the medium and reduce the pressure of the medium. Equipment within a certain range, but in the process of use, the steam pressure reducing valve needs to be overhauled, so what are the maintenance procedures for the steam pressure reducing valve?
When the steam pressure reducing valve is disassembled, use steel characters to mark the maintenance number on the steam pressure reducing valve and the flange connected to the valve, and record the working medium, working pressure and working temperature of the valve, so that the corresponding materials can be selected for repair. . When overhauling the valve, it is required to do it in a clean environment. First clean the outer surface of the steam pressure reducing valve, or blow it with compressed air or clean it with kerosene. But remember the nameplate and other signs. Check for external damage and record it. Then disassemble the other parts of the steam pressure reducing valve, clean them with kerosene (do not use gasoline to avoid fire), check the damage of other parts, and make records. Carry out a strength test on the valve body and bonnet. If it is a high-pressure valve, non-destructive flaw detection, such as ultrasonic flaw detection and X-ray flaw detection, must be carried out.
Red lead powder can be used to test the sealing ring, and the degree of fit of the valve seat and valve disc (valve office). Check for bent stem, corrosion, thread wear. Check the stem nut for wear.
Deal with the detected problems. Valve repair welding defects. Overlay or update the sealing ring. Align or replace valve stem. Repair all parts that should be repaired; replace those that cannot be repaired.
Reassemble the steam relief valve. When assembling, all the gaskets and fillers should be replaced.
Carry out strength test and tightness test.
